Day 29 - Diamond Lake, OR

We've now traveled over 5,000 miles! We are a L-O-N-G way from home! What scenery we've seen!

Wouldn't you know that we decide to leave and a storm is coming! I'd love to see gale force winds along the coast, but not while in the RV, so we're headed inland to Diamond Lake, OR. We'll visit Crater Lake and Diamond Lake.

Again Sir Garmin has a sense of humor. He took us up a mountain road that had us going and coming and sometimes meeting ourselves! He had us turning right into the campground. But wait...there is no campground! We backtrack a bit and find a road that says Diamond Lake Resort, so we try that road. Just 1/4 mile down the road is the campground. There is snow piled up everywhere, but the campground is open - barely. They normally open May 1, but opened only last week - because of the snow. It's cold here and light snow is falling.

We see the sign to Crater Lake. The north road is closed - snow again! We'll take the south road tomorrow. It's longer, but it's open.

We get set up and head over to the lake and mountain we can see from the campground. Or at least we can see the lake. The mountain is covered by clouds and the lake is choppy. Back to the campground.

Early evening to take some time to rest and read. Just a day on the road. Maybe tomorrow the sun will be out again!

See ya down the road!

Jenny :)
