Day 40 - The Happiest Place on Earth!

We decided to head to DisneyLand! We've been to DisneyWorld many times, but we were right here in Anaheim and had not good reason not to go! We even decided to take Chrissy along as they have a kennel there just outside the gates. We were within walking distance, but decided to take the truck. Good thing! It was hot!

We got to the park just as it opened, but it didn't seem very crowded. Since we only had one day, we chose Disneyland instead of trying to go to the California park, too.

Dropped Chrissy off and in we went. It's very much like DisneyWorld, but smaller. Many of the rides are the same name, but not the same ride. Pirates of the Caribbean was great here! I loved the animatronic Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow. The ride is longer and more involved than Florida.

We rode some of the "kid" rides and went through the Enchanted Tiki Room a couple of times just to get cool. It's different, too, from Florida.

The one ride we didn't like was "Indiana Jones." I'm not fond of roller coasters and the dark....what did I get? A roller coaster and the dark! I wasn't the only one screaming! LOL

We split a lunch plate that could have fed an army! Food was delicious. Also stopped for some ice cream and got to watch a show in the air conditioning....Aaaaah!

We went to check on Chrissy in the kennel and she was doing great. They had a number of dachshunds in there that day.

We really had a great time in the park and proudly wore our First Time buttons we were given. Cast members stopped us a good bit and asked if we were having a good time. Of course we were! It was the happiest place on earth. Although....we saw a bunch of parents and kids who were not happy! LOL

My feet were really hurting (got blisters on the balls of my feet), so we gave up about 6:00 p.m. It was also about 100 degrees! We collected Chrissy at the kennel and she was awarded a VIP certificate! Very Important Pet. We'll take it home and have it framed! LOL

We arrived back at the RV to find the power had been off. We later discovered it was a problem with the power box and one of the breakers. If we had left Chrissy in her cage, she would not have survived the heat. It was 106 when we went inside. We cooled off some eventually. Got to watch the Disney fireworks out the window of the RV. Gorgeous!

Off to Page, AZ tomorrow and we're still a day ahead of schedule.

See ya down the road!

Jenny :)
