Day 46 - Visit with Liz and Family!

Before we left this morning , we swept, vacuumed, and mopped. We also rearranged items in the RV, and removed mysterious items from the fridge.

Leaving with a few sprinkles falling this morning and headed to Albuquerque to visit our friend Liz and her family - Bob - husband, and kids, Max, Wells, and Keely. It's not a long drive today, so we'll stop to shop along Route 66.

We stopped at Continental Divide, NM to do some shopping and do some sight-seeing. James wanted his photo taken at the continental divide sign and the Route 66 sign on the highway, so we took a moment to do that.

I went inside the first store, but didn't find anything I couldn't live without. Inside the next store, something was going on. The three people who worked there kept saying "I hope she's alright....I wonder where the ambulance is." They kept looking out the window, but I didn't see anything. I paid for my purchase and step outside. There was an older lady on the ground having a seizure. Her husband was trying to hold her still. I asked him if needed any cold water, but he said no and that the ambulance was coming but was coming from some distance. As we pulled out, the ambulance pulled in. Hope everything turned out alright.

On to Albuquerque! We get in and get settled. We'd stayed here before and liked this campground. It's on Route 66 and has a lot of vintage cars and campers parked around. Best of all, they have trees!

We call Liz and arrange to meet her at her house about 4:00 p.m. We headed to Camping World and Walmart for a little shopping for the RV before heading to her house. We finally get there! I didn't take a picture of Liz's yard, but wish I had! Flowers everywhere and it's gorgeous. I need her to visit me and fix my yard!

It was good to see her again. The kids have grown a lot in the two years since we've seen her and the family. We also got to meet Pita the dog. She's gorgeous and great with the kids. She really likes playing with Bob!

We headed to dinner at Garcia's. It was a great Mexican restaurant. The fun part was, Liz knows everybody there! She even knew some of the kids in the place. Dinner was wonderful! Thanks for everything!

We headed back to the campground as we have a 300 mile drive to Amarillo, TX in the morning. When we got there, we realized that a storm had moved through the campground. It had rained in parts of Albuquerque, but the campground got wind and sand. Our doormat was buried in the sand and there were small tree limbs down over the park, but no damage to any one's unit that we could see.

Off to bed and an early morning! Oh, don't forget to check out David's new cut!

See ya down the road!

Jenny :)
